Astitva Women Education and Empowerment Foundation is a non-governmental organization in Chhattisgarh to promote female literacy, improve health & hygiene, and stimulate empowerment of women. ASTITVA started in 2010 with a literacy campaign, and our grassroots-level efforts continued subsequently, leading to a registered NGO in 2014.
ASTITVA (Identity in English) is the paradigm to facilitate the development of disadvantaged women by supporting innovative and impactful activities that benefit their education, career, and growth. The focus is on preparing the girl child to succeed in school and beyond. We are building a foundation to create a positive change by advocacy and outreach, and through health and hygiene drives. Our initiatives foster sustainable development of rural communities through training and skills development in women-led cottage industries, thereby augmenting financial independence and reducing vulnerabilities.
At ASTITVA, we are committed to transforming the lives of women and girls in rural Chhattisgarh. Our focus is on advancing the education of the girl child, fostering women’s economic independence, and raising awareness about women’s health, with greater access to opportunities and resources. We believe that women’s empowerment and gender equality are the cornerstones of a strong and progressive society. Through initiatives in digital transformation, skill development, and sustainable livelihoods, we strive to enable women to discover their true potential, build self-reliance, and shape their own identity.
Our areas of impact are:
1. Education 2. Women's Empowerment 3. Women's Health & Hygiene
How we work:
Our four-pronged approach is based on Research, Program Development, Grassroots Action, and Volunteering.
