Astitva Women Education & Empowerment Foundation is committed to the holistic health and well-being of rural communities in Chhattisgarh. The focus on mental and physical wellness stems from four key motivations -
By organizing ongoing health initiatives like Swasthya Samwad and menstrual hygiene awareness workshops, they work to reduce stigma, bust myths, and improve access to essential information about bodily health and hygiene — which directly impacts both physical and psychological well-being.
Many rural areas in Chhattisgarh face limited access to reliable health information and services. We step in to fill this gap by promoting awareness about holistic health, hygiene practices, and preventive care. These efforts not only improve physical health outcomes but also reduce anxiety and misinformation, contributing to wellness.

The physical and mental wellness drives were also a response to community needs, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted the crucial importance of holistic health support for resilient communities. By donating sports gear to schools and initiating wellness dialogues, we recognize that physical activity and community engagement are linked to stronger mental well-being and overall quality of life.
Wellness initiatives also help in building confidence and emotional resilience among rural people. When individuals are educated about their bodies, health challenges, and how to care for themselves, it boosts their sense of agency and self-worth, core to our mission of empowerment and identity building.

Astitva Foundation Chhattisgarh donated sports equipment to the Government Middle School in Amodi village, where there was no access to sports gear for children. During the COVID-19 pandemic, children’s screen time more than doubled, and studies have shown that excessive recreational screen use is linked to poor mental and physical health, as well as hindered cognitive development.
In response to these challenges, Astitva Foundation Chhattisgarh conducted multiple mental wellness drives in rural schools across Chhattisgarh and provided sports gear and equipment to encourage physical activity, healthy routines, and emotional well-being. These initiatives aimed to ensure that children’s mental and physical health could be supported and sustained during the pandemic, contributing to their overall development and learning outcomes.

Astitva Foundation Chhattisgarh conducted a mental wellness drive and donated sports gear and equipment to support good health and promote mental well-being among children during the pandemic. Encouraging a healthy lifestyle is essential for strong academic performance and overall physical and mental health. Through these efforts, we aim to create a positive impact on the psychophysical well-being, cognitive development, and holistic growth of children during the pandemic.

Sports gear and equipment were donated to the Government Primary and Middle schools for the mental and physical education of children. The occasion gave us an opportunity to unite, inform, and empower rural communities about the positive role sports play in their healthy and holistic growth.
Our sports initiatives reaffirm mental and physical fitness as quintessential elements in driving a social change.

Our efforts led to the children enjoying sports as part of their everyday school life. Children are the future of our country, and providing them with a foundation of positive values towards a promising future is one of our objectives.
A healthy lifestyle behavior is a prerequisite to strong academic performance and sound health. Our efforts made a positive impact on the psychophysical well-being, cognitive activities, and holistic development of the children during the pandemic.

A Physical Education and Mental Wellness drive was conducted at the Government High School, Mura, as part of an initiative across seven rural schools in Chhattisgarh to promote the psychophysical well-being and cognitive development of children during and after the pandemic.
Encouraging good health and regular physical activity during COVID times was a key priority to support the holistic development of students in rural schools. Several studies have shown that children’s screen time more than doubled due to lockdowns and remote learning, contributing to poor mental and physical health and hindering cognitive development. In response, Astitva Foundation Chhattisgarh organized multiple mental wellness campaigns and donated sports gear and equipment to encourage healthy behaviour and outdoor activities among children.

A wellness drive was organized at the Government High School in Bhadha village to promote the physical and mental well-being of students. As the school had never had access to sports equipment before, essential sports items were donated to create opportunities for regular physical activity and outdoor play. The initiative focused on encouraging healthy habits, reducing the impact of excessive screen time, and supporting the overall psychophysical and cognitive development of children. By introducing sports and movement into the school environment, the drive sought to foster a more balanced, active, and supportive space for students’ holistic growth.
